Jordan H1 2024: Kia and Sorento storm into lead

The Kia Sorento is the best-selling vehicle in Jordan so far in 2024.

The Jordanian new vehicle market is stable over the First Half of 2024 at -0.3% year-on-year to 18,614 units. Kia (+96.3%) doubles its sales year-on-year to snap the brands top spot off Toyota (-21.4%) in great difficulty. Changan (+4745.5%) scores a meteoric rise that sees it go from just 33 sales over H1 2023 to almost 1,600 this year. Hyundai (+2.7%) stays at #4 and Isuzu (-3.1%) at #5 but MG (-78.4%( implodes to #6 and 3% share vs. #3 and 13.7% over H1 2023. Lexus (+20.2%) is the only additional Top 10 member in positive.

Over in the models charts, the Kia Sorento (+519.4%) is up six-fold on 2023 to a roaring pole position with 11.8% share, potentially helped by the new model. It topples the Toyota Land Cruiser (-4.6%) at 10.9% of the market while the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (-11.4%) remains in third place. The Changan E-Star lands directly at #4. Note it topped the charts outright over Q1. The Kia Frontier (+38.4%) and Sportage (+81.5%) also post fantastic results below whereas the Toyota Hilux (-62%) freefalls from #2 to #7.
