Slovakia February 2024: Skoda Fabia snaps first win in over a year

The Skoda Fabia is the best-selling vehicle in Slovakia in February.

It’s another very satisfying month for the Slovak new car market at +16.3% year-on-year in February to 7,702 units. This way, the year-to-date tally is up 17.5% to 15,637. Atop the brands ranking, both Skoda (+37.1%) and Hyundai (+23.5%) vasty outpace the market, with the latter reaching 10.8% share. It overtakes Toyota (-14.9%) and Kia (+2.5%) both underperforming. Volkswagen (+77.2%) and Suzuki (+38.6%) also boast stellar gains in the remainder of the Top 10. All other brands can’t match the market growth, with Mercedes (-23.6%) hit the hardest. Further down, Nissan (+95.2%), Lexus (+70.4%), Seat (+64.2%) and Ford (+37.5%) make themselves noticed.

Model-wise, the Skoda Fabia (+117%) surges ahead to snap the top spot, its first monthly victory in over a year: since January 2023. The Skoda Octavia (+66.8%) also excels but drops to #2. It however retains the YTD pole position. The Hyundai i30 (+93.1%) also manages a spectacular lift at #3 while the year-ago leader, the Kia Ceed (-3.1%) is down slightly. The Dacia Duster (+51.3%), Skoda Karoq (+28.9%) and Kia Sportage (+22%) also shine below. #2 in February 2023, the Toyota Yaris Cross (-52%) dives to #16.
