Croatia February 2024: Skoda Octavia takes control of strong market
The Skoda Octavia is the best-selling car in Croatia but this month and year-to-date.
The Croatian new car market is up another very strong 23.7% in February to 4,486 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 28.3% to 8,947. Skoda (+36.1%) easily retains the brands lead with 13.9% share, a slight improvement on its January level. Volkswagen (+5.1%) is much weaker at #2, followed by Suzuki (+122.6%) and Toyota (+70.5%) both euphoric. Ford (+120.5%) is the only remaining Top 10 brand to beat the market, just as Hyundai (+10.2%) and Audi (+8.4%) post soft gains and Renault (-34.7%), Dacia (-31.7%) and Kia (-6.8%) all fall.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+223.3%) ascends to a clear pole position with 6.2% share, distancing the Suzuki Vitara (+171.3%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+552%) all sporting outstanding gains as well. The Octavia also ranks #1 year-to-date as last month’s leader, the Opel Corsa, freefalls to just 10 sales in February. The Suzuki S-Cross (+46.5%) follows at #4 with a struggling Dacia Duster (-25.3%) rounding out the Top 5. The Skoda Scala (+156.7%) and VW T-Cross (+53.8%) also impress further down while the Kia Stonic (#17), Ford Kuga (#18), VW Golf (#19) and Nissan Qashqai (#20) return inside the Top 20.
