Bulgaria January 2024: Dacia places Sandero and Jogger atop soaring market

The Dacia Jogger is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Bulgaria in January.

4,513 new light vehicles found a home in Bulgaria in January, a fantastic 54.1% year-on-year surge. Keep in mind Bulgaria sales data is strongly skewed by re-exports to other European markets as many cars registered in the country never see its roads. This month Skoda (+226.6%) and Toyota (+95.9%) are equal leaders, both easily outpacing the market to 15% share each. This is to be compared with 9.7% and 11.5% respectively over the Full Year 2023. Dacia (+23.1%) falls two spots on December to #3 with Renault (+6%), Volkswagen (+25.2%) and Kia (+39.5%) also weak in context. Hyundai (+82.3%) and Ford (+70.9%) also shine below, as do Opel (+197.6%), Land Rover (+190%), Nissan (+183.3%), Seat (+175%) and Haval (+100%).

The Dacia Sandero (-31.4%) holds onto the top spot despite a drastic year-on-year fall: it held a record 12.1% share a year ago vs. 5.4% this month. The Dacia Jogger (+425%), #1 in December, continues to impress at #2. The Skoda Superb (+384.2%) and Kamiq (+446.7%) post surreal gains while the Toyota Corolla (+41.9%) is more subdued at #5. The Toyota RAV4 (+159.6%) rallies back up 71 spots on December to #6, the Skoda Octavia (+184.1%) is down two to #7, the Toyota C-HR (+279.3%) up 9 to #8 and the Dacia Duster (+745.5%) down six to #9.
