Bulgaria January 2023: Dacia Sandero up to 12.1% share in market jumping 23.2%

The Dacia Sandero easily tops the Bulgarian charts in January.

New car sales in Bulgaria rally back up 23.2% year-on-year in January to 2,928 units. Dacia (+87.1%) surges ahead to first place in the brands charts with 16.3% of the market vs. 9.5% over the Full Year 2022. Renault (-1.1%) underperforms but stays at #2 while Toyota (-9%) does even worse and falls to #3. Volkswagen (+84.7%) also posts a fantastic gain at #4 alongside BMW (+78%) and Hyundai (+41.3%). Mercedes (+24.3%) matches the market while Skoda (+12.5%), Ford (+7.8%) and Kia (+3.5%) can’t keep up with the average growth.

Over in the models aisle, the Dacia Sandero (+152.1%) sails off into the distance with 12.1% share, almost three times any other model. It is followed by the Renault Express (+227%) finally following the steps of previous leader the Dacia Dokker. #1 over the Full Year 2022, the Toyota Corolla (+19.3%) drops to #3 this month. The Renault Clio (-4.5%) is in trouble at #4 while the Dacia Spring (+6200%) ranks 5th like in December. The Renault Megane (+140.9%), VW T-Roc (+56.7%) and Kia Sportage (+41.5%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 just as the Toyota Aygo X is in 9th place.
