Colombia September 2023: Mazda (+31.3%), Nissan (+30.6%) challenge market down -34.7%

The Mazda CX-30 is the best-selling vehicle in Colombia for the 4th time in a row.

The Colombian new vehicle market continues to freefall in September at -34.7% year-on-year to just 15,611 units. This way the year-to-date tally is now down -31.2% to 134,500. Renault (-53.1%) remains the best-selling carmaker but endures the harshest fall in the Top 6. Toyota (-19.6%) resists well in 2nd place above Chevrolet (-44.5%) in difficulty. Mazda (+31.3%) goes completely against the grain with a splendid year-on-year lift to stay in 4th position. Nissan (+30.6%) is the other great performer in the Top 10 whereas Volkswagen (-62%) and Suzuki (-56.6%) both sink. Below, BMW (+61.5%), Volvo (+5.6%), Seat (#19) and BYD (+112.2%) stand out.

Model-wise, the Mazda CX-30 (+196.6%) snaps the top spot for the 4th consecutive month but remains stuck in 8th place year-to-date. For the month it distances the Suzuki Swift (-52.5%) and Renault Duster (-54.8%), the latter remaining #1 year-to-date. The Toyota Hilux (-21.1%), Kia Picanto (-44.5%) and Chevrolet Onix (-59.7%) follow. The Mazda2 (+92.1%) and Chevrolet Tracker (+6.5%) are both in positive below, with the Renault Kwid (-57.4%) and Toyota Corolla Cross (-49.3%) rounding out the Top 10. The Ford Escape (+15.9%) shines below.
