The Renault Duster is #1 in Colombia in September.
It’s a sixth consecutive month of year-on-year lift in Colombia with sales up 4.6% to 23,893. This leads to a year-to-date total up 9.6% to 195.410. Renault (+4.3%) matches the market to easily remains the overall best-selling brand with a 1,000 unit over any other carmaker. Chevrolet (+184.1%) catches up on a particularly low year-ago volume but its market share (15%) is below its YTD level (16%). Toyota (+51.1%) and Suzuki (+20.3%) shine below while Kia (+4.6%) is in sync with the market. Volkswagen (+29.2%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 whereas Mazda (-56.8%) and Nissan (-68.4%) both freefall.
Model-wise, the Renault Duster (+17.8%) scores its first monthly win since last November but stays in 2nd place year-to-date below the Suzuki Swift. The Swift (+245.9%) which rallies back up 28 spots on last month to end September at #2. The Chevrolet Onix remains at #3 above August leader the Chevrolet Joy. Both models post surreal year-on-year gain as they were close to zero sales a year ago. The Renault Kwid (+38.3%) is down one rank on August to #5 ahead of the Kia Picanto (-15.2%) and Renault Stepway (-4.7%). The Toyota Corolla Cross (+374.8%) returns inside the Top 10 for the first time since last June.
