Netherlands July 2023: Kia Picanto clear leader in market up 30.7%
The Kia Picanto is by far the best-selling vehicle in the Netherlands in July.
The Dutch new car market is up 30.7% year-on-year in July to 28,687 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume up 30.6% to 229,342. Kia (+7.1%) reclaims the brands lead it held over the Full Year 2022 but stays #2 year-to-date below Volkswagen, up 51.3% this month. Toyota (+22.3%) is up three spots on June to #3 but trails the market, unlike Skoda (+43%) in excellent shape at #4. Ford (+103%), BMW (+80.7%) and Renault (+58%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, Tesla (+642.2%), MG (+341.3%), Lynk & Co (+259.7%), Mazda (+153.8%), Polestar (+148.4%), Land Rover (+138.3%) and Suzuki (+108.4%) stand out.
Over in the models lane, the Kia Picanto (+81.1%) surges year-on-year to become the clear leader this month with 3.8% share, its second win in the past three months. The Skoda Enyaq (+38%) flies off 9 spots on June to #2 ahead of a struggling Peugeot 208 (-19.4%). Other great performers in the Top 10 include the Ford Kuga (+1273.7%), Tesla Model Y (+454.3%) which keeps its YTD leadership, the Hyundai i10 (+81.7%) and Kia Niro (+53.3%). Notice also the Opel Astra (+1062.2%) finally benefiting from the new generation. The Renault Austral is the best-selling recent launch at #25.
