Israel February 2023: BYD, Chery and Geely all inside Top 10, market up 15.2%

Geely is one of three Chinese brands inside the February Top 10.

According to data by our local partner cartube.co.il, 29,132 new light vehicles hit Israeli roads in February, that’s a solid 15.2% year-on-year increase. The year-to-date tally now stands at 76,328, up 21.7% over the first two months of 2022. The Top 3 brands both fare significantly worse than the market. Hyundai (+6.2%) edges up to 15.5% share vs. 16.9% year-to-date while Kia (-12.4%) and Toyota (-37.3%) both struggle. In contrast Mazda (+27.6%) and Skoda (+37.2%) score stellar gains to round out the Top 5. Just below, BYD is down one spot on January to a still outstanding 5.5% share at #6 while Chery is up one rank to #7 which is its third consecutive month inside the Israeli Top 10 in 4 months of presence on the market.
