The Citroen Berlingo is up 10-fold year-on-year in September.

Whereas most of the European market is in positive, new car sales in Slovenia drop a worrying -8.5% year-on-year in September to 3,776 units. This means the year-to-date tally is now off -14.7% to 36,758. Atop the brands ranking, Volkswagen (+10%) and more strikingly Skoda (+34.2%) brave the negative trend with solid upticks to 14.9% and 12.9% share respectively, comforting their YTD domination. Renault (-47.2%) freefalls at #3, a ranking it also holds YTD vs. #2 over the Full Year 2021. Citroen (+62.5%) lodges the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 15, with Suzuki (+48.8%) also shining but most other brands in frank negative such as Kia (-38.7%), Hyundai (-38%), Opel (-34.8%), Fiat (-30.5%) and Ford (-20.9%).

Over in the models ranking, the Skoda Octavia (+124.4%) soars to 4.9% share, lodging its third pole position in the past 4 months. It climbs to #2 year-to-date as a result, only 26 sales below the Renault Clio (-63%) back up to #3 this month but imploding year-on-year. The Renault Captur (-33.5%) also struggles year-on-year but is up one spot on August to #2. The next five models vastly outpace the market, starting with the Citroen Berlingo (+855.6%) and with the Fiat 500 (+182.8%), VW T-Roc (+136.1%), Hyundai Tucson (+83.7%) and VW Tiguan (+43.8%) also very dynamic. Below, the Toyota Yaris (+82.9%) and Peugeot 2008 (+80%) also makes themselves noticed. The VW Taigo (#17) is the best-selling recent launch in the country, and the only one in the Top 60.
