Turkey August 2022: Opel (+81.5%), Kia (+54%) can’t prevent market loss (-19.6%)

New light vehicle sales in Turkey drop a harsh -19.6% year-on-year in August to 48,336 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -8.8% to 458,446. Fiat (-22.7%) falls faster than the market to 16.6% share vs. 18.3% so far this year. It distances Volkswagen (+19.6%) up to 10.4% of the market vs. 8.6% YTD. Renault (-45.2%) implodes to 9.8% share vs. 12.8% YTD. Opel (+81.5%), Kia (+54%) and Ford (+9.1%) are the additional gainers in the Top 10 just as Dacia (-46.2%) and Hyundai (-28.5%) are hit hard. Below, Alfa Romeo (+825%), Cupra (+711.1%), DS (+188%), Volvo (+41.6%) and Peugeot (+39.8%) make themselves noticed.
