Turkey June 2022: Market up 1% to best in 5 years, Fiat (+26.7%) hits record share

Fiat holds a record 22.2% share in Turkey in June.

The Turkish new light vehicle market edges up 1% year-on-year in June to 80,652, the highest June volume since since 2017 (83.658). Due to a weak start of the year, (-12.8% in January, -15.1% in February and -33.4% in March) the year-to-date tally remains largely in negative at -9.3% to 357,904. The entire brands podium vastly outpace the market with double-digit gains: Fiat is up 26.7% to a whopping 22.2% share vs. 17.4% year-to-date, it is a new record for the brand and is to be compared with 13.2% share at home in Italy. Renault is up 40.8% to 15.4% vs. 13.8% but Ford (+14.1%) is down on its YTD level at 8.2% vs. 9%. Volkswagen (-29.9%) is in bad posture and falls to #4 ahead of Hyundai (-1.8%) limiting its fall. Below, Peugeot (+22.5%) and Citroen (+54.7%) shine while further down Cupra (+7060%) takes off.
