Bulgaria April-May 2022: Renault Megane surprise leader in market up 6%
The Renault Megane is the best-selling vehicle in Bulgaria over April/May.
Today we can share with you Bulgarian new car sales data for the months of April and May 2022 combined. Over the period, 5,871 light vehicles found a buyer in the country, up 6% on the same period in 2021. Year-to-date, the market is up 9.5% to 13,669 sales. Toyota (+32.8%) reinforces its year-to-date lead in the brands charts but Renault (+8.4%) lurks just 4 units below. Dacia (-36.3%) suffers year-on-year but is back up 3 spots on last month to #3. Skoda (-18.4%) is back up 4 ranks but also struggles year-on-year. Hyundai (+164.4%), Mercedes (+21.5%), Kia (+18.4%), Citroen (+9.1%) and Peugeot (+7.4%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10, with Volkswagen (-15.7%) the odd one out.
Model-wise, the Renault Megane (+378.6%) multiplies its year-ago sales by 5 to brilliantly take the lead over the period with the Dacia Duster (+63.9%) in tow. The Toyota Corolla (+28.7%), still #1 year-to-date, is down to #3 this time. The Citroen C3 (+22.8%) completes a Top 10 entirely outracing the market. The Toyota C-HR (+65.9%) is also in outstanding shape unlike the Nissan Qashqai (-32.1%), Renault Master (-12.6%) and Kia Sportage (-4.9%).
