Toyota (-1.4%) goes against the positive trend but has no issues holding onto the brands pole position with 31.6% of the market vs. 35.9% a year ago. #2 Nissan (-1.6%) also loses volume and share at 11.9% vs. 13.6% in 2021. In contrast the next 9 carmakers all outpace the market, with Land Rover (+96.4%) the most impressive followed by Chevrolet (+74.2%), Kia (+39.2%), MG (+24.4%), Mitsubishi (+23.7%), Hyundai (+21.6%), GMC (+20.3%), Honda (+15.3%) and Suzuki (+14.7%). The Land Rover Defender (+260.1%) ends its first full year in market at a splendid 6th place, distancing the Mitsubishi L200 (-2.1%) and Toyota Yaris (+41.1%). The Toyota Camry (+62.2%) and Corolla (+44.7%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while just outside, the Kia Picanto (+231.2%) is up more than 3-fold year-on-year and 37 spots to #11.
