Luxembourg September 2021: BMW #1, Opel (+29.5%), Tesla (+10.4%) defy market sinking -27.6%
Opel sales are up 29.5% year-on-year in Luxembourg.
The Luxembourg new car market plunges -27.6% year-on-year in September to just 2.948 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally edging up 2.8% to 35.011. BMW (-5.9%) resists very well and sports its first monthly win in Luxembourg since August 2020. It distances last month’s leader Mercedes (-45.9%) and the year-to-date leader Volkswagen (-35.1%) both losing share year-on-year. Audi (-26.9%) and Peugeot (-18.4%) manage to keep their losses below the market rate and close out the Top 5. Opel (+29.5%) is by far the best performer in the Top 10 (and Top 15) with Tesla (+10.4%) rallying back up 18 spots on August to #9 and the only additional gainer in the Top 10. Further down, MG (+216.7%), Lexus (+150%), DS (+59.3%), Land Rover (+31.8%), Mazda (+18.5%), Nissan (+11.5%) and Kia (+7.4%) impress with year-on-year upticks.
