Bahrain January-July 2021: Nissan (+30.7%), Isuzu (+47.3%), MG (+31.1%) stand out in market up 9.3%
Nissan Sunny sales are up 79.4% year-on-year so far in 2021.
New light vehicle sales are up 9.3% year-on-year in Bahrain over the first seven months of 2021 to 14.186 registrations. Toyota (-1%) edges down to see its market share thaw from 41.1% a year ago to 37.3%, albeit remaining by far the most popular brand in the country. Nissan (+30.7%) continues to impress and improves its share from 8.6% to 10.3%, in the process overtaking Lexus (-2.2%) to rank #2 overall. Below Hyundai (+1.3%) underperforming, Isuzu (+47.3%) shines while MG (+31.1%), Kia (+23.1%) and Mazda (+17.3%) also stand out in the remainder of the Top 10. Genesis (+183.3%), Hino (+150.9%), Cadillac (+72.5%), Changan (+47.6%), Ford (+41.6%) and Jeep (+28.1%) are also strong further down.
Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-1.7%) edges down but remains ultra-dominant at a round 10% share. The Nissan Sunny (+79.4%) and Isuzu TF (+55.1%) each climb three spots on a year ago to #2 and #3 respectively while the Toyota Corolla (+79.9%) sports the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 10, distancing the Toyota Hiace (+41.4%) and Lexus LX (+27.5%) also in outstanding shape. The Toyota RAV4 (+60.2%) and Yaris (+39.5%) also make themselves noticed in the remainder of the Top 10. Notice also the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (+97.9%) up 10 spots to #12, the Hyundai Sonata (+342.4%) up 39 to #24 and the Haval H6 landing at #47.
