Ukraine June 2021: Toyota and RAV4 top market up 20.7% on 2020 and 35.6% on 2019
The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling vehicle in Ukraine in June.
The Ukrainian new car market is up 20.7% year-on-year in June to 8.816 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 30.2% to 48.380. Note June 2021 volumes continue to be up significantly on pre-pandemic June 2019 at +35.6% and +25% year-to-date. Toyota (+23.5%) outpaces the market to retain the brands pole position with 14.7% share, in line with its H1 level. It distances Renault (-14.6%) in difficulty at 11.2% share vs. 12.6% so far this year. Kia (+9.6%) only manages pushy growth but remains in third place above Skoda (+26.6%) in a Top 4 unchanged on May. In fact the entire Top 7 replicates the year-to-date order, with Volkswagen (+272.8%) and Nissan (+68.5%) posting stellar gains and Hyundai (+10.8%) more timid. The bottom end of the Top 10 has Chery (+129.2%) and Mitsubishi (+71.5%) in outstanding shape. Further down, Lada (+448.4%), Jeep (+225%), JAC (+88.9%), Mini (+62.5%), BMW (+59.5%), Ravon (+52%), Porsche (+50%), Mazda (+42.9%) and Haval (+35.9%) stand out.
Model-wise, the Toyota RAV4 (+18.1%) is once again the best-selling vehicle in the country, but the Kia Sportage (-8.9%) lurks just 15 sales below. The Top 6 models are identical to the year-to-date ranking, with the Renault Duster (-28.8%) ensuring the podium remains 100% SUV and distancing the Renault Sandero (+2.3%), Nissan Qashqai (+121.3%) and Renault Logan (-2.7%). The Mitsubishi Outlander (+91.7%), Mazda CX-5 (+73.2%) and Toyota Camry (+47.6%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, the Chery Tiggo 4 (+3400%), VW Touareg (+1418.2%), Toyota Corolla (+425%), Skoda Karoq (+211.1%) and Nissan X-Trail (+115.2%) all manage surreal year-on-year gains. The Renault Arkana (#40) is the best-selling recent launch (<12 months) above the Chery Jetour X70 (#43) and Kia Rio X (#45).
