Finland June 2021: Toyota Corolla leads, now #1 YTD, Tesla Model 3 #4, VW ID.4 #7

The ID.4 is up to a record 7th place in Finland in June. 

New car sales in Finland gain 24% year-on-year in June to 9.566 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 19.3% to 55.157. Toyota (+149.8%) multiplies its sales by 2.5 year-on-year to reach 18.8% share for the month vs. 15.8% so far this year. Volkswagen (+22.8%) almost matches the market at #2 with a strong 12.5% share vs. 10.7% YTD while Skoda (+3.8%) rounds out the podium as it does YTD. Kia (+22.5%) is up one spot on May to #4, toppling Volvo (-33.2%) in paltry shape. Audi (+50.9%) and BMW (+41.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Ford (-25.6%) struggles. Further down, notice Tesla (+386%) up 17 ranks on last month to #12, with Fiat (+460%), Mini (+209.1%), Peugeot (+62.7%), Suzuki (+54.6%) and Lexus (+39.1%) also standing out.

Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+247%) repeats at #1 with a whopping year-on-year gain, snapping the YTD top spot in the process. The Toyota Yaris (+114.5%) follows and also grabs the #2 YTD spot making it a Toyota 1-2. As a result the Skoda Octavia (-9.1%) drops to #3 both for the month and YTD. Faithful to its end-of-quarter fill ups, the Tesla Model 3 leaps to #4 in June and breaks into the YTD Top 30 at #21. It is followed by the Toyota RAV4 (+97.3%) and VW Golf (+14.9%). The VW ID.4 improves one spot on May to a record 7th place with 2.2% share, while the VW Tiguan (+371.8%) scores the largest gain in the Top 10 at #10. Below, the BMW 3 Series (+163.8%), Seat Leon (+128.6%), Ford Kuga (+126.5%), Toyota C-HR (+85.7%), Audi A4 (+42.6%), Kia Stonic (+40.5%) and Kia Rio (+30.5%) impress.
