Pakistan February 2021: Suzuki Alto (+162%) sails off in market up 34.9%

The Suzuki Alto holds 25.8% of the Pakistani market in February.

Sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan shoot up 34.9% on a low year-ago basis to 16.436 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 41.3% to 33.951. Suzuki (+65.6%) easily outpaces the market to see its share climb to 54.2% vs. 52.8% so far this year. Toyota (-2.8%) is in difficulty at 26.7% share while Honda (+13.5%) is trailing the market by a significant margin. Explosive growth for Hyundai (+917.2%) rising to 4% share, with JAC (+45.5%) also healthy and Isuzu (-89.4%) drowning. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (+162%) sails off to 25.8% share vs. 23.8% year-to-date, keeping the new Toyota Yaris at bay with 15.6% share. The Suzuki Cultus (-3.3%) is up one spot on January to #3, the Suzuki Ravi (+106.2%) is up three to #4 and the Honda Civic (+17.3%) up one to #5, all benefiting from the freefall of the Toyota Corolla (-68.3%) impacted by the Yaris launch. The Hyundai Tucson advances to the Top 10 at #10 both for the month and YTD.
