Thailand January 2021: Isuzu (+6.7%) defies Toyota (-12.4%) in market down -23%

Isuzu sales are up 6.7% in a market down -23%.

After rising 13.6% in December, the Thai new light vehicle market falls back to earth in January at -23% to just 55.208 units. Toyota (-12.4%) resists better than the market to an improved 32% share but Isuzu (+6.7%) actually gains ground year-on-year to see its share fly off from 22.9% over the FY2020 to 27.6% this month. Nissan (-60%), Honda (-50.4%) and Mitsubishi (-44.7%) are in great difficulty just as Mazda (-21.5%) somewhat contains its fall. MG (+11.9%) and Ford (+7.9%) sign the best performances in the Top 10, with Lexus (+163.3%) and Subaru (+80.5%) also shining further down.
