Scotland (UK) Full Year 2020: Vauxhall Corsa snaps 10th win in past 13 years, sales down -27.8%

Thanks to our partnership with SMMT, we can share with you a zoom in on Scotland as a UK nation, keep in mind overall UK sales figures have already been analysed in our UK Full Year 2019 update. New car sales in Scotland drop -27.8% year-on-year in 2020 to 127.394 units, that’s the second best hold among all UK nations for the year. Thanks to the new generation, the Vauxhall Corsa (-14.1%) reclaims the Scottish pole position off the Ford Fiesta (-38.8%). The Corsa wins annually for the first time in three years and the 10th time in the past 13 years. The VW Golf (-28.3%) and Polo (-26%) round out the Top 4 like last year while the Mercedes A-Class (-22.4%) overtakes the Ford Focus (-29.3%) to finish at #5. There are three newcomers in the Top 10 this year: the BMW 1 Series soars to #8, ranking #2 in November and #3 in December, the Ford Puma lands directly at #9 and the Vauxhall Crossland X replaces the Grandland X at #10.
