Argentina October 2020: Fiat Cronos repeats at #1 in market up 14.6%

The Fiat Cronos is the best-selling vehicle in Argentina again.

A low year-ago base and pandemic pent-up demand means new vehicle sales surge 14.6% year-on-year in Argentina to 37.163 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally down -30.6% to 284.666 units. Volkswagen (+27.1%) almost doubles the market growth to easily remain the best-selling brand in the country, with Citroen (+35.3%), Fiat (+32%) and Peugeot (+21%) also beating the market in the remainder of the Top 10 but Ford (-4.4%) and Toyota (+5%) underperform.

Model-wise, the Fiat Cronos (+237.9%) repeats at #1 and more than triples its sales year-on-year thanks to its renewal. It is also the second time the Cronos ever tops the Argentinian charts. The Toyota HIlux (-3.9%), VW Gol (+65.1%) and VW Amarok (+63.9%) reproduce last month’s Top 4, while the VW T-Cross (+148.4%), Chevrolet Onix (+77.2%), Peugeot 208 (+56.7%), Ford Ranger (+30.1%) and Toyota Etios (+22%) also shine in the Top 10.
