Argentina September 2020: Fiat Cronos signs first win in market on the mend (-3%)
The Fiat Cronos is the best-selling vehicle in Argentina for the first time.
The Argentinean new vehicle market drastically reduces its fall in September to -3% year-on-year and 34.705 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -34.4% to 247.503 after already falling -44.5% last year… Volkswagen (+4.4%) bucks the negative trend to easily stay on top of the brands charts with 16.4% share, distancing a struggling Toyota (-17.9%) at 12.5% of the market. Fiat (+35.4%) impresses with the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 8, gaining two spots on August to #3. Ford (+16.9%) and Citroen (+2.8%) also shine but it’s Jeep (+49.3%) that scores the best uptick in the Top 10. Model-wise, the Fiat Cronos (+215.4%) signs its first ever win in Argentina, toppling the Toyota Hilux (-2.5%) and advancing to #4 YTD. The VW Gol (+44%), Amarok (+50.1%) and Ford Ka (+62.2%) follow, all sporting extravagant year-on-year surges. Below, the Citroen C4 Cactus (+140.4%), Jeep Renegade (+61.9%), Fiat Toro (+60.2%), Renault Kangoo (+39.1%), VW T-Cross (+18.2%) and Chevrolet Onix (+10.3%) also stand out.
