Poland July 2020: Skoda Octavia back in charge, VW T-Roc breaks into Top 10 in market down -14%
The VW T-Roc secures its very first Top 10 finish in Poland.
New car sales in Poland are off another -14% year-on-year in July to 41.323 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -31.9% to 218.123. Skoda (-3.3%) resists well and reclaims the brands YTD top spot off Toyota (-3.9%) with Volkswagen (-7.7%), Kia (-14.1%) and Dacia (-24.5%) in tow like in the YTD order. Mercedes (+30.5%) scores the only year-on-year gain in the Top 10 with Audi (+31.6%), Volvo (#13), Seat (#15) and Fiat (+5.9%) also impressive below whereas Opel (-56.1%), Hyundai (-32.3%), Ford (-31.2%) and Peugeot (-28.3%) struggle. Thanks to its new generation, the Skoda Octavia (+6.3%) is the best-selling vehicle in Poland for the first time since April 2019, while the Dacia Duster (-0.1%) repeats at an outstanding 2nd place above the Toyota Yaris (+41.9%) also boosted by a new generation. Still leader year-to-date by just 66 units, the Toyota Corolla (-31.6%) is down to #4 in July while last month’s best-seller, the Skoda Fabia (-23.9%) falls to #5. Outstanding results also for the Toyota C-HR (+89.4%), Renault Clio (+14.6%) and VW T-Roc (+29.7%) securing its first ever Polish Top 10 finish at #10 (previous best #18 in August 2019).
