UK nations June 2020: First Top 10 finish for the Ford Puma
The Ford Puma ranks #9 in Wales, its first Top 10 finish in any UK nation.
Thanks to our partnership with SMMT we can now share with you the UK detail by nation for June. Logically as its car showrooms could reopen as early as June 1, England (-32.9%) fares the best at 129.013 units followed by Northern Ireland (-36.6%) at 3.278 and Wales (-38.1%) at 4.802. Scotland, whose showroom reopening was delayed until June 29, collapses -54.1% to 8.059. Year-to-date, this time it’s Wales (-44.1%) that does best at 23.844 units ahead of England (-47.9%) at 570.019, Northern Ireland (-50.8%) at 15.163 and Scotland (-56.4%) at 42.875.
Like last month, the Vauxhall Corsa is #1 in Scotland and Wales, but also #2 in England. The Ford Focus is #1 in Northern Ireland and the Ford Fiesta #1 in England and #3 in Wales. Justifying its first ever podium ranking nationally, the Toyota Yaris rises to #2 in both Scotland and Wales and #3 in England. Meanwhile the Renault Captur is up to #2 in Northern Ireland which is best ranking there since August 2016 (#2) and #6 in Wales. The Renault Kadjar is up to #3 in Northern Ireland like last November and the VW Polo is #3 in Scotland.
Notice also MG placing the ZS at #4 and the 3 at #7 in Wales, the BMW 1 Series up to #7 in Scotland, the Volvo XC40 in #9 Scotland and the Ford Puma scoring its first ever Top 10 finish in any UK nation (for this generation) at #9 in Wales. Finally the Tesla Model 3 appears at #9 in England and #10 in Scotland.
