Turkey February 2020: Renault #1 (+118.2%), Citroen (+557.9%) spectacular in market back to 2018 level (+89.4%)

The C5 Aircross is up to #12, helping Citroen up 557.9% in February.

In order to give you more timely updates we will publish Turkish brands data when made available, then update the article with models data. In February the Turkish new light vehicle market continues its spectacular recovery with sales up 89.4% year-on-year to 47.122 units including light commercials, almost exactly the same growth rate as January (+89.7%), and returning to its February 2018 level of 47.009. Year-to-date, sales are now up 89.6% to 74.395 but remains down -9.4% on the same period in 2018. Renault (+118.2%) leapfrogs Fiat (+57.1%) and Volkswagen (+71%) to reclaim the brands top spot for the first time since last September. Ford (+74%) is solidly stuck in 4th place above Peugeot (+185%), Toyota (+126.8%) and Dacia (+124.1%), all improving significantly faster than the market. Meanwhile DS (+1162.5%) and Citroen (+557.9%) lodge the largest year-on-year gain in the entire market, with Smart (+433.3%), Seat (+314.9%), Ssangyong (+260%), Kia (+196.4%), Skoda (+168.4%), Jaguar (+161.1%), Opel (+135.4%), Land Rover (+112.7%) and Jeep (+103.7%) also up spectacularly.

Model-wise, the Fiat Egea (+45.6%) reclaims the pole position off the Toyota Corolla (+169.1%) both this month and YTD, while the Renault Clio (+129.6%) and Megane (+167.9%) complete the podium. The Peugeot 3008 (+372.1%), Opel Astra (+220.2%), Dacia Duster (+203.1%), Ford Transit/Tourneo Courier (+138.9%) and VW Passat (+119.5%) also vastly outperform the market in the remainder of the Top 12. The Citroen C5 Aircross is up 11 ranks on January to hit a record #12.
