Singapore February 2020: Mazda (+48.7%), Mercedes (+26.7%) defy market down -6.8%

Mazda surges 48.7% year-on-year in Singapore in February.

The Singaporean new car market drops -6.8% year-on-year in February to 4.669 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally down -26.9% to 9.698. Toyota/Lexus (-14.5%) snaps the brands top spot for the third time in the past 4 months despite a steep fall, however holding better than #2 Honda (-18.7%). Mazda (+48.7%), Mercedes (+26.7%), Audi (+13.5%) and BMW (+19.1%) blissfully ignore the difficult environment to post spectacular gains in the remainder of the Top 10, just as Kia (-40.7%), Mitsubishi (-40%), Hyundai (-25.5%) and Nissan (-24.7%) all implode. Seat (+150%) and Subaru (+76.8%) impress further down.
