Vietnam January 2020: Kia Soluto in Top 5 in market down -52.8%
The Kia Soluto is inside the Vietnamese Top 5 for the second time in 3 months.
New vehicle sales in Vietnam start the year in the worst fashion: down -52.8% year-on-year to 15.787 units, partly due to the Lunar New Year falling in January 2020 vs. February 2019, resulting in many less selling days this month. Brand leaders Toyota (-48.4%) and Thaco-Kia (-33.3%) both resist much better than the market and improve their shares to 24.8% and 18.9% respectively, but direct followers Honda (-55.9%) and Mazda (-63.7%) aren’t so lucky. Mitsubishi (-35%) is down two spots on December to #5 but improves ts share to 10.6%, with Nissan (-20.3%) and Isuzu (-21.1%) also resisting ok further down. Model-wise, the Toyota Vios (-19.7%) and Mitsubishi Xpander (-10.5%) remain in the lead with the Mazda3 (-63.2%) and Toyota Fortuner (-37.8%) in tow, while the new Kia Soluto (aka Pegas) is up 3 spots on last month to sign a second Top 5 in the past three months.
