Thailand November 2019: MG (+31.1%) resists worst market performance since May 2015 (-16.2%)

MG sales are up 31.1% in a market down -16.2%.

New vehicle sales in Thailand endure a 6th consecutive year-on-year drop and 2nd double-digit one in the past 3 months in November at a ghastly -16.2% to 79.299 registrations. This is the largest year-on-year fall since May 2015 (-19%), tilting the year-to-date tally into negative territory at -1.1% to 918.267. Atop the brands ranking, both Toyota (-11.8%) and Isuzu (-12.8%) manage to lose less ground than the market, as does Mitsubishi (-12.6%) at #4 but Mazda (-35.7%), Ford (-34.5%), Nissan (-25.4%) and Honda (-19.9%) all implode. Once again MG (+31.1%) is the only gainer in the Top 10 – and Top 13, managing a second consecutive month – and ever – at 3% market share or more. Further down, Peugeot (+7400%), Ssangyong (+285.7%), Subaru (+118.1%), Volvo (+63.2%) and Lexus (+13.6%) stand out while Mini is down one spot to #17 for its 2nd month in market.

Previous month: Thailand October 2019: MG hits record share in 5th straight market drop (-7.6%)

One year ago: Thailand November 2018: Toyota (+42%), MG (+122%) lift market up 26.3%
