Colombia November 2019: Renault Kwid 3peats at #1, Toyota (+22.8%), BMW (+60%) resist first market drop in 7 months (-8.8%)
The Kia Soluto breaks into the Colombian Top 50 this month.
New vehicle sales in Colombia end a streak of 6 consecutive months of growth in November at a steep -8.8% year-on-year to 23.989 units, yet the year-to-date tally remains in positive at +4.2% to 232.971. Renault (+1.4%) continues to frankly dominate the sales charts at 21.2% share ahead of Chevrolet (-18%) at 17.2%, extending its YTD lead to almost 10.000 units. The remainder of the Top 10 bar Toyota (+22.8%) and Hyundai (+18.8%) endures tough losses, with Ford (-38.5%), Nissan (-22.4%), Mazda (-19.2%), Volkswagen (-18.3%), Suzuki (-17.8%) and Kia (-16.1%) all tumbling down. Below, Kenworth (+294.7%), JMC (+130.3%), Peugeot (+88.2%), Hino (+61%), BMW (+60%), Volvo (+53.8%) and Citroen (+37.9%) stand out with spectacular gains.
In the models ranking, the Renault Kwid 3peats at #1, breaking its volume (1.157) and share (4.8%) records again, but the Chevrolet Onix (+62.5%) is lurking just 29 units below. The Renault Sandero Stepway (+1.7%) leaps up 3 spots on October to land on the third step of the podium, distancing the Renault Duster (-17%) and Logan (-32.2%) both in difficulty. The Mazda3 (+12.7%) is boosted by the new generation and is the only additional Top 10 nameplate in positive. The Nissan Versa (+45.4%) is up 16 ranks on last month to #14 thanes to the new model, as is the Toyota Corolla (+225.9%) up from outside the October Top 50 directly to #18. The Kia Soluto, in fact a China-made Kia Pegas, becomes the 2nd best-selling recent launch for only its 2nd month in market as it breaks into the Top 50 at #35, overtaking the VW T-Cross (#39).
