Colombia November 2018: Renault (+39.6%) threepeats in market up 24.4%
The new gen Renault Duster hasn’t hit Colombia yet, but the old one is up 89% this month.
New vehicle sales in Colombia shoot up 24.4% year-on-year in November to 26.290 units, the largest year-on-year gain this year, lifting the year-to-date volume up 5% to 223.550 units. Renault (+40%) posts a spectacular gain to remain in the brands pole position for the third month in a row and the 5th time in the past 9 months, yet Chevrolet (+7%) is still YTD leader at 19.9% share vs. 19.4%. Volkswagen (+76%), Mercedes (+68%), Toyota (+49%), Nissan (+35%) and Mazda (+31%) also outpace the market in the Top 10, while below, Changan (+142%), Mini (+142%), Fiat (+139%), Citroen (+129%), Jeep (+112%), JMC (+94%), Subaru (+80%), Mitsubishi (+74%), BMW (+59%), Audi (+57%) and Dongfeng (+43%) also impress.
Model-wise, the Renault Sandero (+33%) cements its leadership thanks to a market-beating surge, and is followed this month by the Renault Duster (+89%) helped by end-of-life rebates on the outgoing generation. The Chevrolet Spark (-32%), Renault Logan (+30%) and Kia Picanto (+11%) round up the Top 5 ahead of the Mazda2 (+95%) while the new Chevrolet Beat is up one spot on October to #7. Notice also the Toyota Fortuner (+140%), Chevrolet Onix (+114%), Ford Ecosport (+104%), Nissan Frontier (+83%), VW Gol (+77%), Nissan March (+63%), Toyota Prado (+61%), VW Voyage (+53%) and Toyota Hilux (+52%) all posting spectacular gains.
