Qatar First Half 2019: Toyota up to 35.1% share, Land Cruiser untouchable
The new Camry (+39.3%) helps Toyota up to 35.1% share in Qatar.
Thanks to the return of Audi, BMW, Volkswagen and Porsche into the dataset, the Qatari new car market nudges into positive territory for the first time in 4 years at +2.1% year-on-year to 24.147 units over the First Half of 2019. Toyota (+8.2%) leads the charge with a market-beating gain to 35.1% share, distancing a raft of struggling brands: Nissan (-7.8%), Kia (-4.2%), Mitsubishi (-32.2%) and Lexus (-28.3%). Honda (+12.7%), Hyundai (+11.4%) and Ford (+2.9%) are also in great shape in the Top 10.
The Toyota Land Cruiser (+9.2%) is in a world of its own with 14.7% share, over 3 times the level of #2 Toyota Hilux (+10.1%) with the Nissan Sunny (+54.3%) climbing up 3 spots to #3. The Toyota Yaris (+59.9%), Honda City (+57.7%), Kia Sportage (+53.2%), Toyota Corolla (+44%) and Camry (+39.3%) also shine in the Top 15.
