Thailand May 2019: Chevrolet (+36.4%), Toyota (+10.2%), Isuzu (+9.2%) can’t help weakest market gain in 2 years (+3.7%)
Chevrolet sales in Thailand surge 36.4% year-on-year in May.
New light vehicle sales in Thailand slow down their growth to just +3.7% year-on-year in May to 88.097 units, putting an end to 20 consecutive month of gains of 8% or over and producing the slowest growth rate in almost 2 years, since the +0.6% of May 2017. However the top 4 brands easily beat the market gain this month with Toyota (+10.2%), Isuzu (+9.2%), Honda (+7.7%) and Mitsubishi (+6.2%) all in excellent shape. Chevrolet (+36.4%) is the only double-digit gainer in the Top 10, with Porsche (+196.4%), Ssangyong (+83.3%), Hyundai (+45.3%), Volvo (+25.9%) and Kia (+13.9%) reproducing the feat further down the charts but all selling less than 600 monthly units.
