Yemen Full Year 2018: Toyota Land Cruiser reigns, Range Rover Velar lands at #9 in recovering market

New car sales in war-torn Yemen are on the mend for the 2nd straight year at +41.9% to a still hesitant 5.396 units. Toyota (+57.2%) is virtually the last carmaker standing, improving its share from 65.2% in 2016 to 82.9% in 2017 to 91.9% this year. Land Rover (+26.2%) drops to 4.4% while Nissan (-12.4%) can only manage a 2.4% share. Lexus (-7.7%), Suzuki (-46.9%) and Hino (+25%) are all below 1% of the market. Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+63.3%) enjoys a third consecutive year in pole position with an overwhelming 41.4% share, followed this year by the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (+66.5%) overtaking the Toyota Hilux (+42.4%). The Toyota Prado (+64.2%) and Range Rover (+4.2%) round up the Top 5 like in 2017. The Toyota Fortuner (+109.8%) and RAV4 (+159.3%) also impress in the Top 10 while the Range Rover Velar lands directly at #9.
