Moldova Full Year 2018: Dacia Logan’s lead threatened by Duster

The Dacia Logan is the best-seller in Moldova again in 2018, but this could be its last year on top.

Based on data shared with us by our Central European partner CE Auto, new car sales in Moldova gain a robust 13.3% year-on-year to 6.322 registrations in 2018. The Dacia Logan (-19.1%) remains in the Moldovan pole position for at least the 8th year in a row, but it only topped the monthly charts 6 times and its reign is under intense pressure by the Dacia Duster shooting up 58.3% thanks to the new generation to 5.6% share, ending the year only 63 sales below the Logan. The Hyundai Tucson (-8.6%) is knocked down to #3 while the Toyota RAV4 (+27.2%) overtakes the Skoda Octavia (+22.2%) to #4, both nameplates registering sizeable gains. The Kia Sportage (#6) and Dacia Logan MCV (#9) make their entrance in the annual Top 10, knocking the Skoda Rapid and Ford Focus out.
