Israel August 2018: Kia leads, Mitsubishi and Seat soar

Mitsubishi sales in Israel jump up 55% year-on-year in August.

Thanks to our partnership with cartube.co.il, we can share with you today August brands data for Israel, models data is now a quarterly occurrence. The new car market is down 3.1% year-on-year to 23.548 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 2.8% to 212.098 units. Kia (+8%) overtakes sister brand Hyundai (+6%) to take the lead of the Israeli brands ranking for the first time since last February, whereas Toyota (-18%), Skoda (-12%) and Suzuki (-20%) all freefall in the remainder of the Top 5. Mitsubishi (+55%) and Seat (+47%) post the largest gains in the Top 20, while further down DS (+1500%), MG (+1300%), Jaguar (+275%), Lexus (+55%) and Volvo (+46%) all lodge spectacular upticks. In the bad news aisle we find Honda (-30%), Fiat (-28%), Mercedes (-26%), Ford (-25%), Alfa Romeo (-22%), BMW (-22%), Renault (-18%), Audi (-16%), Opel (-15%), Volkswagen (-15%) and Mazda (-12%).
