Thanks to our partnership with cartube.co.il we can share with you today Full Year 2017 Israeli data. The market is down 1.8% on 2016 to 281.563 registrations, with the Top 4 best-selling brands unchanged on a year ago: Hyundai and Kia are both down 6% but remain dominant, while Toyota (+4%) and Skoda (+11%) gain significant share. Suzuki (+24%), Nissan (+23%) and Renault (+21%) are the biggest gainers in the Top 10 while further down, Dacia (+26% and breaking into the annual Top 20 for the first time), Jeep (+31%), Alfa Romeo (+41%), Aston Martin (+62%), Porsche (+79%), Cadillac (+84%), DS (+110%) and Maserati (+128%) make themselves noticed.
Model-wise, the Kia Picanto reclaims the top spot it held in both 2013 and 2015 despite deliveries down a harsh 12% to 4.2% share. That’s better than the 17% drop endured by last year’s leader, the Kia Sportage, down to #2 in 2017. In fact the Top 4 best-seller all display double-digit declines wit the Hyundai Tucson down 22% and the Toyota Corolla down 16%. The Skoda Octavia gains one spot and 3% to #5 but the best performer in the Top 10 is the Hyundai Ioniq launched in late 2016 and ranking at #6 for its first full year in market, its best annual ranking in the world. The Renault Clio also impresses by more than doubling its sales year-on-year and leaping 20 spots to #10. Another strong gainer is the Kia Niro up to #21 for its first full year also. The best-selling new launch in Israel for 2017 is the Toyota C-HR landing directly at #17, ahead of the Suzuki Ignis (#36), Skoda Kodiaq (#49) and Seat Ateca (#66).
