Spain November 2017: Sales up 12.5% to highest November since 2007

The Seat Arona, Kia Stonic and Citroen C3 Aircross all rank inside he Spanish Top 100.

The Spanish new car market continues to gallop ahead: up another 12.5% year-on-year in November to 104.756 units, the highest November sales and first six-digit figure since 2007 (125.227) after hitting a low of 48.221 in November 2012. Year-to-date, volumes are now up 7.7% to 1.138.029 after eleven months, the highest since 2007 (1.470.746). Rental sales pull the market up this month at +20.6% to 8.462 and 8,1% share vs. 7.5% a year ago, while private sales are up a strong 13.4% to 63.459 and 60,6% share vs. 60.1% in October 2016 and company sales trail the market at +8.9% to 32.835 and 31.3% share vs. 32.4% a year ago. Year-to-date, it’s company sales that take the lead with a 14.2% lift to 333.030 and 29.3% share vs. 27.6% over the same period in 2016, rental sales are up 9.3% to 214.402 and 18.8% vs. 18.6% while private sales lag behind at +3.9% to 590.597 and 51.9% share vs. 53.8% in 2016.

The Renault Sandero is up 41% to #2 in November.

Renault (+12%) follows the market to cement its newfound leadership at 8.9% share, distancing Peugeot uy 25% to 7.4%, Opel up 15% to 7.3% and Seat up 13% to 7.1%. Volkswagen drops 12% (the only declining brand in the Top 18), ahead of Citroen up 27% and Toyota up 21%. BMW (+15%) and Kia (+38%) also beat the market in the Top 10. Outside, Lexus (+31%), Mazda (+32%), Infiniti (+39%), Abarth (+39%), Jeep (+39%), Subaru (+42%), Dacia (+43%) and Suzuki (+60%) impress. Model-wise, the Seat Leon cements its reclaimed leadership with a second consecutive pole position at 2.7% share (+14%) while the Dacia Sandero posts another stunning month at +41% to 2.6% in 2nd place. The Renault Clio gains 29% to #3 and two spots in the YTD order to also claim #3. The Renault Megane (-16%) and Nissan Qashqai (-6%) round up the Top 5.

The Peugeot 5008 II leads all new launches in Spain this month.

Inside the Top 10, the Opel Corsa (+25%) and Citroen C3 (+44%) also shine, while beyond the Peugeot 3008 II (+62%), Dacia Duster (+41%), Citroen C4 Picasso (+58%), BMW X1 (+46%), Ford Kuga (+47%), Renault Scenic (+155%), Fiat Tipo (+104%) and Mazda CX-5 (+68%) also make themselves noticed. Among recent launches, now that the Toyota C-HR (#37) has crossed the one year mark, the Peugeot 5008 II up 11 spots on October to #30, Seat Arona up 73 ranks to #31, Opel Crossland X up 11 to #43, Hyundai Kona up 47 to #63 and Kia Stonic up 14 to #64 lead the way. The Citroen C3 Aircross (#78) and Opel Grandland X (#91) also manage to score a Top 100 ranking. This month we welcome the VW T-Roc at #154.
