Stable new vehicle market in Malawi at -0.7% to 1.743 registrations. Toyota remains master in command with 46.7% share but drops 11% to 814 sales. Nissan surges 36% to overtake Ford (-20%) for 2nd place overall with 14% share vs. 10.3% a year ago. Tata (+6%) remains 4th while Mitsubishi soars 151% to #5, ahead of Kia and Iveco. Notice also Renault at #11. The Toyota Hilux once again is crowned best-seller in Malawi in spite of deliveries down 6% to 360 for a mammoth 20.7% market share. The Toyota Land Cruiser (-12%) follows ahead of the Ford Ranger (-22%) while the Nissan Hardbody is up 15% to #4, making it three pickups in the Top 4. Toyota also places the Corolla, Prado, Fortuner and Hiace inside the Top 10, the Mitsubishi Pajero is reborn at #8 and the VW Amarok is up 170% to #12.
