Latvia Full Year 2016: Qashqai & Octavia top market up 15%
The Nissan Qashqai is once again the best-selling vehicle in Latvia in 2016.

New light vehicle sales in Latvia are up by a very robust 15% year-on-year to 18.575 registrations including light commercials. Volkswagen remains the favourite choice here but only gains 0.2% on 2015, resulting in a depressed 13.9% market share vs. 16% a year ago. Toyota (+9%), Nissan (+1%) also trail the market and lose share but just below, Skoda (+16%), Ford (+40%), Opel (+88%), Peugeot (+65%), Kia (+41%) and Citroen (+33%) all outpace the market and display improved shares inside the Top 10. Outside, notice Volvo (+32%), Hyundai (+35%), Mini (+53%), Mazda (+76%), Seat (+84%), Bentley (+113%) and Jaguar (+186%) all posting spectacular gains.
Model-wise, the Nissan Qashqai posts a second consecutive year atop the charts despite seeing its deliveries sink by 11% to 773. It is followed this time by two Skodas: the Octavia up 34% and 3 spots on last year to #2 and the Yeti up 20% and remaining at #3. The VW Golf (+29%) and Passat (-18%) make it four Volkswagen Group nameplates in the Latvian Top 5 this year. The Kia Sportage gains 30% and 6 ranks to #7, the Opel Mokka is up 154% to #8, the VW Tiguan up 47% to #9, the Citroen Berlingo also up 47% to #10 and the Ford Fiesta up 268% to #13.
