New car sales in Uruguay are down 6.5% year-on-year in September to 3.474 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 15% to 30.887. For the first time since last January, 2015 market leader Suzuki is back in the brands leadership position despite sales down 25% year-on-year to 401 and 11.5% share. The Japanese manufacturer distances Volkswagen (-17%) whereas Renault (+53%) and Ford (+139%) go completely agains the grain to post spectacular year-on-year gain. Hyundai (+14%), Peugeot (+39%), Toyota (+67%), BYD (+31%), Geely (+35%) and Tata (+211%) also shine.
