Another outstanding month for new vehicle sales in New Zealand, up 11.3% year-on-year to 13.884 units, the highest ever September score and 2nd highest monthly score in the history of automobile in the country. The year-to-date tally is up 7.6% to an all-time high 107.265 deliveries after 9 months. Toyota remains master in command with 17.4% share, while Holden soars 17% to 11.8% to reclaims the #2 spot off Ford stable at 10.5% share. Nissan (+31%), Suzuki (+52%), Kia (+88%), Ssangyong (+25%), Land Rover (+32%), Peugeot (+31%), Foton (+36%) and LDV (+100%) all post spectacular year-on-year gains.
The Ford Ranger continues to roar atop the sales charts with 5.5% share, a comfortable margin above the Toyota Hilux (4%) and Corolla (3.5%). The Holden Colorado (+32%) and Mitsubishi Triton (+57%) stun, making it 4 pickup trucks in the September Top 5. The Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage follow, both delivering brilliant scores. The Toyota RAV4 (+37%), Nissan Navara (+42%), Suzuki Swift (+74%), Isuzu D-Max (+52%), Nissan X-Trail (+49%) and Mazda BT-50 (+113%) also impress.
