Netherlands June 2016: Renault triumphs, up 58% in market up 7%

The Dutch new car market is slowly but surely reshuffling its eco car incentive-free self in 2016 with June volumes up 7% to 39.241 units but year-to-date tallies down 4% to 193.983. It’s Renault’s month in the Netherlands: the French carmaker gains a stunning 58% to take the lead of the brands ranking with 4.281 sales and 10.9% share, diustancing Volkswagen at 9.4% (-8%), Opel at 8.3% (+8%), Peugeot at 6.8% (-8%) and Ford at 5.2% (-13%). BMW (+19%), Nissan (+47%), Toyota (+18%), Hyundai (+40%), Skoda (+19%) and Suzuki (+30%) shine in the Top 20 while beyond, Land Rover (+21%), Dacia (+38%) and Jaguar (+148%) make themselves noticed. Model-wise, the Renault Clio triumphs with 1.426 sales and 3.6% share, leaping from #8 to #3 year-to-date in the space of one month. The French supermini distances the Opel Astra (1.112), Hyundai i10 (996), VW Polo (971) and Renault Captur (912). The VW Golf, #6 in June, retains the YTD pole position at 5.557 units. Notice also the Nissan Qashqai up to #7, the Renault Twingo up to #11, Volvo V40 up to #12 and Renault Megane up to #21.
