Finland April 2016: Ford Focus and Opel Astra soar
Ford Focus sales are up 166% year-on-year in Finland this month.

The Finnish new car market is up a very solid 15.5% year-on-year in April to 10.964 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 13.5% to 43.770 units in four months. Passed by Toyota in March, Volkswagen reclaims the lead of the Finnish brands charts both in April (10.1% share) and year-to-date (10.7%) with Skoda storming into 2nd place this month thanks to deliveries up 18% to 1.072 and 9.8% share. Toyota is relegated to third position at 1.011 units (-1%). Ford (+24%), Kia (+38%), Opel (+30%) and Nissan (+40%) all impress inside the Top 10, while below Hyundai (+45%), Renault (+36%), Honda (+74%), Mazda (+120%) and Lexus (+89%) stand out.
The Skoda Octavia remains the most popular model in the country.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia is ultra-dominant with over 5% market share despite sales down 6% year-on-year. The Ford Focus soars to 2nd place overall and is up a stunning 166% on April 2015, followed by the Kia Rio (+52%) and Nissan Qashqai (+53%). The Opel Astra rounds up the Top 5, gaining an outstanding 253% year-on-year thanks to the new model. Notice also the Audi A4 (+73%), Skoda Superb (+182%), Hyundai i20 (+181%), BMW 5 Series (+95%) and Kia Sportage (+88%) posting spectacular gains. Finally, the Suzuki Vitara makes its entrance inside the year-to-date Top 30 at #29 thanks to 120 sales in April.
