Sweden March 2016: Hyundai i30 breaks into Top 10 in market up 10%

The Swedish new car market once again defies gravity with sales up 10% year-on-year in March to 34.712 registrations, lifting the first quarter total up to an equally impressive 10% at 83.229 units. Volvo (18.6%) is sovereign at home above Volkswagen (13.2%), Toyota (6.5%) and BMW (5.7%). Mercedes is up 43% at #7, Hyundai up 47% to #8 and Renault up 35% to #10. In the models ranking, the Volvo V70 (7.7%) and VW Golf (5.2%) remain a notch above the rest of the market, wih the VW Passat (3.7%), Volvo S/V60 (3.7%) and V40 (3.3%) fighting for the overall #3 position. The Volvo XC60 stays at very high levels at #6 and the Hyundai i30 is up a fantastic 29 spots on February to break into the Top 10 at #7 thanks to 932 sales and 2.7% share. Among recent launches, the new gen Volvo XC90 is down to #26, the Renault Kadjar is up 19 ranks to a best-ever #33 and the Honda HR-V is up 21 to #65. We welcome the Renault Talisman (#223) and VW XL1 (#232).
