A change in reporting method means that unfortunately we will only get a models ranking for Israel every quarter. The monthly reports will now focus on brands. Overall the Israeli new car market is up by a dynamic 8% year-on-year in January to 36.481 registrations. Like in December, Hyundai is the most popular carmaker in the country by a large margin with 5.018 sales and 13.8% share vs. 4.009 and 11% for Toyota and just 3.738 and 10.2% for the 2015 leader, Kia. Skoda surges 48% on a year ago to land in 4th place with 8.5% share above Mazda (-9%) and Mitsubishi (-11%). Seat is up 17%, Renault up 30%, Audi up 19% and Opel up 35%. Further down, Mercedes gains 65%, BMW 49%, Dacia 67%, Isuzu 87%, Volvo 48% and Ssangyong 184%.
