Based on data communicated by Central European market data specialists CE Auto, The Serbian new car market is up by a very dynamic 12% year-on-year in 2015 to 22.687 units, the long-awaited first year-on-year improvement since 2008. Local manufacturer Fiat reclaims the pole position in the models sales charts: the 500L, assembled in a factory based in Kragujevac, is back up 47% to a cool 8% share, reclaiming a throne it held in 2013 (9.2% share). The Skoda Fabia (-10%) drops down one spot but the Skoda Octavia (+6%) and Dacia Sandero (-6%) stay put while the Ford Fiesta, Opel Astra, Fiat Ducato and Skoda Superb leap from outside the Top 10 in 2014 to well inside in 2015. Brand-wise, thanks to the ‘revival’ of the 500L, Fiat (+29%) is catching up on market leader Skoda (+11%) at 17% share vs. 17.3%, with Volkswagen (+2%), Ford (+44%) and Opel (+40%) below. Renault (+24%), Mazda (+90%), Citroen (+234%) and Jeep (+282%) frankly outpace the market.
