The Israeli new car market is down a harsh 20% year-on-year in September to 14.927 registrations, however the year-to-date total is still in positive territory at 203.560 units, up 6% on 2014. Kia cements its newfound leadership in the brands ranking with 2.237 sales and 15% share (+1%) vs. just 1.086 and 7.3% (-56%) for sister brand Hyundai, while Toyota remains #2 at 13.9% and Mitsubishi is up 39% year-on-year to round up the podium. Peugeot is up a mammoth 258% to 10th place, Subaru is up 64% to #12, Citroen up 116% to #14 and BMW up 28% to #18. At the other end of the scale, Renault is down 53%, Suzuki down 68% and Chevrolet down 62%. Over in the models ranking, thanks to another very solid month (+17%), the Kia Picanto is now irresistibly close to the year-to-date pole position at 9.936 sales vs. 9.951 for the Toyota Corolla, #2 this month. The Kia Sportage ranks third both this month and year-to-date (+206%) while the Mitsubishi Outlander is up 38 spots to #4, the Mitsubishi Space Star is up 28 to #13 and the VW Passat is up 23 to #21.
