The Swedish new car market is up by a vigorous 13% year-on-year in September to 29.653 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total to 248.653 units, up 12% on 2014. Volvo logically reclaims the pole position Volkswagen snapped off last month with 6.180 sales and 20.8% share vs. 4.149 and 14% for VW, Toyota is up 3 spots to #3, knocking Audi off to #4 while Kia and BMW both maintain themselves above 5% market share. Notice also – in ranking order – Ford up 32%, Nissan up 31%, Peugeot up 65%, Mazda up 57%, Mini up 288%, Subaru up 45%, Seat up 66% and Lexus up 331%. The Top 3 best-selling models in the country all frankly outpace the market: the Volvo V70 (+20%) is back to #1 but just: the VW Golf (+35%) is only 86 units below while the Volvo XC60 (+41%) rounds up the podium. Exceptional performance of the Mini Cooper up 7-fold on September 2014 to land inside the Top 10 for the very first time at #9. Notice also the Mazda CX-3 and Hyundai Tucson both breaking into the Swedish Top 50 for the first time at #43 and #44.
