The Indonesian new car market is stuck in recession with September sales down 9% year-on-year to 93.038 units, pulling the year-to-date total down 17% on 2014 at 764.683 deliveries. Boosted by its new generation, the Toyota Avanza resumes its implacable domination of the market, selling over four times that of any other nameplate in Indonesia at 16.332 units and 17.6% share this month vs. 3.970 and 4.3% for the #2, the Honda Mobilio. The Daihatsu Gran Max Pikap (#3) and Xenia (#4) are both holding strong, with the Toyota Agya dropping one spot to #5. The Honda HR-V stays inside the Indonesian Top 10 thanks to 2.959 sales and the Toyota Hilux jumps back inside the Top 15 at #14 and 2.211 units, lifted by the new model.
